A WiFi QR code is a scannable pattern that stores your network's connection details — the network name (SSID), password, and security type — directly inside the code itself. Unlike a standard QR code that links to a webpage, a WiFi QR code follows a special format that phones recognise automatically, offering a one-tap "Join Network" prompt the moment it's scanned.
How WiFi QR codes work
When you generate a code above, this tool builds a text string in the standard WiFi QR format (WIFI:T:WPA;S:YourNetwork;P:YourPassword;;) and encodes it as a QR pattern. Your phone's camera app reads this string, recognises the WIFI: prefix, and hands it off to the operating system's network-join flow — rather than opening a browser like a normal link.
Supported security types

How to scan a WiFi QR code

On iPhone
